About the role
As an IT Intern, you will be instrumental in supporting our IT department's daily operations. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your technical skills, and contribute to the efficiency of our IT infrastructure at Offshore Global Logistics Limited.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to computer hardware, software, and peripherals with the guidance of the line Manager or supervisor.
- Repair and replace damaged or malfunctioning IT equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
- Create and manage user accounts across various business assistance applications.
- Assist in troubleshooting and providing IT support to end-users.
- Assist in installation of applications and OS (Operating System).
- Regularly perform inventory checks to monitor IT asset levels and replenish the company stock or recommend procurement when necessary.
- Assist in maintenance of server equipment in control rooms.
- Assist in scanning and removal of malware infections from computers and deploying software updates.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by the line manager or supervisor.
Requirements
- Recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.
- Minimum B plain at KCSE.
- Possess strong comprehension of IT systems and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.
Position:Customs Declarant
Job Type: Full Time
Duty Station: Nairobi
A career as a Customs Declarant at Offshore Global Logistics requires proficiency in customs regulations such as EACCMA, EAC CET TARIFF, and the applicable EAC Customs Management Regulations. The position encompasses all facets of the customs declarations processes and working with a qualified team in the clearing and forwarding department. You will play a key role in managing the import and export processes for cargo by ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit customs and other declarations for import and export shipments in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with applicable local and international trade regulations..
- ยท Verify the accuracy of shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and any other required documents for customs clearance.
- Keep up to date with changes in customs laws, tariffs, and import/export restrictions to ensure full compliance in all transactions.
- Communicate with customs authorities and regulatory bodies (including any Partner Government Agencies) to resolve issues related to clearance delays, documentation discrepancies, or other compliance matters.
- Prepare and share accurate duty estimates as required and proactively inform the relevant parties in case of any changes.
- Classify goods correctly according to customs tariff codes of the EAC to determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
- Identify potential customs risks or delays and take proactive steps to mitigate them, including organizing additional documentation or certifications where necessary.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports as required by management and customers.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and productivity.
- Ensure timely customs license renewal and bond replenishment/renewal/cancellation to ensure seamless operations and compliance with customs regulations.
- Ensure the customs & other related systems logins are up to date and resolve any outstanding issues with customs authorities for seamless execution of roles.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customs transactions and declarations for internal audits and compliance purposes.
- Provide support to clients and internal teams on matters related to tariffs and government regulations and all other issues that touch on customs clearance.
- Listen to colleagues' ideas, recognize and motivate them when they fulfil their work.
- Provide feedback on staff performance and give support when required by the team.
- Participate actively in the induction process to ensure new employees feel welcome and valued, setting the foundation for them to become productive and positive assets to the company.
- Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
- Engage actively in sustainability programs to aid the company in achieving the Environmental, social and governance goals.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or Diploma in custom administration
- At least (2) years' working experience in Freight Forwarding, Customs or Logistics (Import and Export).
- Customs Clearance certification will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Excellent communication skills - with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
- Ability to deal with problems efficiently and professionally.
- Mathematical and computer literacy.
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- A high customer service orientation with a passion for delivering quality
